Mr. Sunderman has over 25 years of experience in finance and operations management. For eighteen years he served as either Chief Financial Officer or Chief Operating Officer of four major corporations.

Mr. Sunderman graduated Cum Laude from UCLA in 1970 where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. In 1975 he received a Master's Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance from USC. In that same year he received his license as a Certified Public Accountant after working for Price Waterhouse & Co. Mr. Sunderman is licensed in both Nevada and California.

JS Sunderman Consulting, Ltd. services the needs of both for-profit businesses and non-profit organizations and has worked with companies in differing industries from high-tech wireless telecommunications to international real estate developments.  Mr. Sunderman has been responsible for the development of over 150 comprehensive proposals representing financing in excess of $300 million from a variety of capital sources.

Mr. Sunderman is active with non-profits having served as CFO of one very large non-profit and as treasurer of another non-profit involved in international mission work including work on establishing medical dispensaries and foreign language education (English as a second language) in a foreign country. Additionally, Mr. Sunderman was honored as Northern Nevada’s “2005 Man of the Year” by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for his fundraising efforts over a nine week period – all during tax season.

Mr. Sunderman is also the founder and President/CFO of Sierra Capital Resources, LLC, an Organizational Development and Financial Management Solution Provider. Here he directs a team of more than 25 consultants in providing small to medium size businesses with a wide variety of services.  These include creation of comprehensive business plans, marketing and sales strategies, sales processing, public relations, IT planning and development, graphic design and search engine optimization, human resources and financial strategies consulting and access to capital markets throughout the United States.

In his spare time, Mr. Sunderman serves as a faculty member at the University of Phoenix, Reno Campus where he is a Professor of Finance. Mr. Sunderman was recently bestowed the honor of Faculty of the Quarter for the 4th quarter 2006. He is also an active member of the Northern Nevada Executive Council.

Ms. Sunderman has over 20 years of relationship building in non-profit organizations. She has been a founder of two non-profit agencies and the president of a third with national ranking. She has cultivated and maintained national relationships at all levels by effectively communicating with legal, medical and other professional organizations throughout the community.

Her vast knowledge of marketing and public relations enabled her to increase existing client base outreach by over 250% and circulation of newsletters by over 600%. Ms. Sunderman has successfully increased non-profit budgets by over 300% in four years through expansion of donor bases including major gifts, planned giving, and increased visibility of agency vision. During this same period she was able to decrease operational costs by over 25%.

Ms. Sunderman has worked with a variety of clients from agencies to restaurants to develop systems to define their bottom line. Review, creation and implementation of forms, chart of accounts, quick books set-up, insurance audits for duplication of coverage and personnel audits for compliance are just a few areas in which she has assisted clients.

She has a wide range of experience in public and community relations, marketing, fundraising events, grant research, volunteer programs and organizational, program and board development. Strategic Planning and the creation of a vision are her most significant strengths.

Ms. Sunderman has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of LaVerne. Ms. Sunderman is a graduate of Leadership Reno - 2000. She is also listed in the 2002 edition of Who's Who in Executives and Business as a result of her 20 years of exemplary service to the community.
